Venus dark side

Venus could be the Greek goddess of love, but there is certainly nothing love valuable about the dark part of Venus-the aspect of the earth that is always shrouded in darkness.

The recent evaluation completed on a worldwide scale found out that the harmful atmosphere on Venus using its powerful winds was actually even more erratic and aggravated on the dark part, reported the journal, Character Astronomy.

Rotating once every 243 Globe days, Venus gets the slowest rotation rate of all solar system planets. Although atmospheric blood circulation on your day aspect has been explored a lot, the night side of Venus had been filled with mysteries.

The Venus Express spacecraft from ESA went around the earth from 2006 to 2014 and the Visible and Infrared Thermal Imaging Spectrometer (VIRTIS) on the spacecraft helped reveal a few of the latest findings on Venus to the team from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Company (JAXA).

Below are a few of the findings:

Inside a phenomenon called ‘super-rotation’, swirling winds at rates of speed 60 times faster than the planet’s rotation plaque the atmosphere of Venus. This is done by watching and tracking the swirling top clouds which may be seen in the planet’s daytime too.

Researchers had no idea what was happening under the cloud addresses on earth and theorized that super-rotation occurred the same manner on both night and day sides of the earth. Great, they realize that the swirling winds on Venus are more powerful on the side is hidden from the sun

The winds on the night time side are formed along with large and wavy clouds that are irregular and form filament-like patterns. This isn’t seen n the sunlit part of Venus.

The team discovered a fresh possible phenomenon they call ‘stationary waves’. They are ‘gravity waves’ which are manufactured in the low regions of Venus’ atmosphere and appearance to stay stationary as the earth rotates.

The weird waves are concentrated in the mountainous regions of Venus which are extremely steep and makes scientists think that the unnatural phenomenon has something regarding the topography of Venus.

Though gravity waves have been noticed before, this is actually first-time that researchers are thinking about factors aside from topography as their cause.

However, on observing the atmosphere of Venus up to 50 kilometers from the top in the southern hemisphere, the researchers were amazed to find no proof gravity waves.

They have assumed that the clouds were created from the top and increased up.

We’ve come quite a distance in uncovering the mysteries of the solar system planets, but it appears like a lot more work remains to be achieved.
